How to Make Caramcam (Sour Salad)

Caramcam or fruit salad is one of the most popular hydrating fresh dishes you can eat as an appetizer and dessert. Caramcam ala Tasya can be my one and only vitamins and minerals source for my body’s daily needs. So that becomes yours too. As Indonesian, we need fruit salads, especially, in the midst of a busy schedule and boring main dish. Ingredients to make caramcam fruit salad are:

100 ml mineral water

18 grams peeled tamarind (excess hard seed)

175 grams Young Mango

160 grams Sweet Potato

350 grams Jicama

150 grams Water Apple

85 grams red chili pepper (optional)

30 grams fried peanuts (optional)

45 grams brown sugar

¼ tbs salt

A few drops of lime citrus

First, prepare the ingredients. Then, wash your mango, sweet potato, jicama, pepper, and water apple. After washing separable ingredients, you can peel dan chop every several ingredients into a bowl. On the stove, you may boil the water with brown sugar and tamarind until boiled up to 100 degrees. While waiting for liquid ingredients, blend fried peanuts and pepper. Filter that boiled liquid with a kitchen tool (strain) and pours into the same bowl. Add peanut and red chili pepper. Mix well until mixed. Add a little citrus. Caramcam is ready to eat and you can put any garnish you like, good day.
